Avalanche of Steel(AOS) is better for targets you want to avoid or stun, and also it is a superior AOE. Spinning Strike is better for chasing targets and for single target foes. They are all AOE attacks that do excellent damage. They all do excellent damage and will carry you all the way up into the 40s, where you may want to specilize into one or more AOE attacks, or utility/buff skills like Daring Shout, or Battle Fury.Īs far as Daily powers go, you can choose any of them. The three Encounter powers you want to focus on as a soloer all ST attacks, Restoring Strike, Takedown, and Flourish. If you are more into soloing, then focus more heavily on Single Target(ST) attacks. If you are more into grouping, go with more Area of Effect(aoe) attacks. Your strength lies in your ability to specilize. Allowing you to solo content that no other class can. It combines the Damage dealing capability of the Trickster Rogue with the defenses of the Guardian Fighter. It is the premier soloing class in Neverwinter. Soloing with the Great Weapon Fighter(GWF) is a joy. Governed by a stamina bar above the D20 icon representing action points, this ability allows you to quickly dash away from harmful effects, or to enemies, as well as being an excellent means of quickly traveling across maps when a horse is not available. The Great Weapon Fighter's shift ability is a quick sprint. You also resist 25-50% of incoming damage, depending on how high your Determination meter was when activated.

Versatility and survivability are keys to being an effective Great Weapon Fighter. Finally, use Sprint, a rechargeable Utility Power, to close the distance on anyone attempting to escape their fate and deal the finishing blow! In desperate situations, the Great Weapon Fighter can cast Daring Shout to mark nearby enemies – the stronger the enemies, the more defenses he gains to fend them off while his party recovers. If your party is surrounded, use the mighty battle chant, Roar, to knock groups back for a vital second wind. To gain the upper hand in combat, lead the charge by using your Slam ability to slow enemies allowing your party to finish them with ease. Abilities such as Avalanche of Steel can be used to clear crowds with area-of-effect damage when your party is overrun. The Great Weapon Fighter can be effective in any combat situation. And if your defender is down, you are the first to absorb incoming damage keeping your allies from harm.
